Born in Cairo in 2006, Zafir’s mission was to create a truly Egyptian T-shirt, one that reflects Egyptian pop culture, become a new medium of expression for young Egyptians , pose as a form of social commentary, simply T-shirts that speak for us, about us and to us. Iconic logos, Egyptian slang, famous quotes or proverbs, works of calligraphy, truck signage and almost everything Egyptian can be seen on the T-shirts. Zafir also hoped to become a platform for Egyptian artists and designers and showcase more of Egypt’s creative talents.
